perhaps u need to train yr 3w? lol....

the others hit it long, not me... Sad

my PW only abt 90m max, i m driving 180m left right with my driver now... Sad

Don't bluff, lah. Santa's not going to get you a Christmas gift if you do.

Seriously though, I don't think it's that you've maxed out your abilities. Far from that, if you ask me. I think you need to see a coach to see if there are any flaws in your swing and if so, try to fix those flaws and focus on improving it.

JT, having played with you, I think you are one of the most humble golfers I've ever met. You can play so much better.

I guess it all boils down to how far you want to take your game. If you're comfortable with where you are and feel that you're not keen to take it further (or believe that there isn't much more which can be done), then you can settle and just enjoy your game now Smile Alternatively, if you feel like you're still some way from where you want to be and there's room for improvement, go get a coach and push the boundaries of your golfing abilities!

As for me, I'd like to fix my wayward fade/slice shots. That will take a coach and a priest.

I come fm the school of thougths that if you want to improve. you have to start measuring , tracking, trending etc etc....in summary, numbers tell the story.

I think Slinger did mention on other aspects....so start tracking say for next 10 games, maybe you can share with us your stats, and lets see where you improve....but of course, if you are like 100% fairway, 100% GIR, and 100% single putt...then, don think liao......Asian Tour Q-School starting soon and think they will be sending you an invite.

PS: For me, I don measure,,,,,too demoralizing....my aim is just to be able with low double digit HC players ...without them feeling that i am slowing their game....you might ask how.....answer: I run faster to my ball.... Very Happy

self taught 'the fun way but not necessary useful' still got many paths to take

- video analysis (you have not reach near the ceiling if you dont have a high speed camera shooting your swing from the back and the side). Nowdays can download those golf analyzer so can study your plane angles.

- MIRRORS!!!! if your training ground dont have mirrors, then its not easy to self teach. Does your house have large mirrors ???

- practice hit 100m with different shots (draw, fade, 3/4, punch, full, 120m - 20m backspin). Maybe that 3/4 with a 9 or 8 iron is more accurate than a full shot with a PW

Coaching is a path, but you're still the vehicle. And effort is the fuel.

My ceiling before engaging a coach might be a bit adventurous but I like the challenge. I aim to hit single digit HC before looking for a coach.

Technically speaking (borrowing this phrase from the other thread) Laughing , I'm my own coach. I analyse my swing through videos and mirrors, or at least a reflective glass panel.

Yep what tronos said about different type shots is very useful on the course.

I kinda "developed" this 3/5 or 3/4 type punch shot with my 4i which runs down 150m pretty nicely. I use it after those wayward tee shots and I'm stuck under a branch with an ant nest above my head or something. Similar flight to a stinger.

You need all sorts of shots on the course. The most interesting shot so far I faced was ball above my shoulder Laughing

Hmmmm... 100+ for the losing... that means we are limited to $1 a point for vegas... ok lah... still within my budget, hopefully, i will not lose like what i lost to SS during our inaugural SCB cup. JT, for your info, the 4th player is a UBS banker.... Smile
