If the best Japanese iron is Miura or Mizuno, what do you think the best japanese Driver manufacturer?   (which has a good quality without any gimmick like Tmag, hehehe sorry Tmag).

"best" is so subjective

maruman, honma?

or the seven dreamers golf shaft

Maruman is not equally Luxury as Honma.  I got a Maruman 3 wood for $130.

Think it is very subjective.. My favorite is still the Ryoma. Am using the woods and hybrids.. But again some of my friends are not crazy over it as it may not be so forgiving…

The high end Honma irons & drivers are for sure quality stuff and only for the very high rollers ... The very high end Honma irons can buy a piece of COE in Sg ... Rolling Eyes Laughing

I have tried quite a lot of JDM drivers and there are two favorites.

1. Onoff Labospec 420 with Roddio M50
2. Tourstage 709 with Crazy LY01

I have also tried Tourstage 709 with Diamana W60 and it was super difficult to launch. So, I guess it depends on the combination of head+shaft against your swing.

Best??

Best = Longest distance plus roll?
Best = Tightest dispersion?
Best = Softest feel on impact?
Best = Easiest to align?
Best = Most forgiving?
Best = Most confident?
Best = Most expensive?

Its relative.

It takes time to find the perfect combo.

I met a golfer who spent more than $2k on one "fitted" driver.

Supposedly the "best" for him.

Ended up he couldnt even hit it well.

He took another demo driver that cost less than half the price. Hitting it like sweet chin music.

Like!! Very Happy  They really should have a "LIKE" button in GR hahahah

To add on, every brand has so many models, how to say which is good or not?

Yamaha V201 with stock shaft.. impressive.
V202 tour model with Tour AD BB-6S.. not so good, head too small. Didn't like the shaft
V203 Tour model with Tour AD DI-6S... OMG!!! DROOL!!!
2013 RMX with Tour AD BB-6s.. SUCKS!!

Also agree with Pug. Head and shaft must work well together to produce a solid combo.

How about Best Reputation?  (the same level as Miura)

Most forgiving is hard to judge.  It depends on your ball striking quality.

Miura Giken is Japanese.

my personal take is reputation equates the consistent quality of the products manufactured by the brand makers. It may also equates the unique design of their products from their technology.

Some golfers may have an emotional preference or habitual preference for certain brands due to the way their products are being made.

Example is Ryoma. You can be assured of the quality of the finishes as long as it is purchased from a authorised dealer. Their driver heads are very similar in profiles, but differ in performance.

I have almost a full set of Jbeam/Crazy gear. I find the quality consistent across their products.

So it very much depends on the golfer as to what is "best"

One man's wine may be another man's poison

Cheers!

Let's not judge the best driver based on price.

For me, Miura is the best.  But it's not the most expensive iron on the market.  Honma and Maruman cost twice as much.

BTW I found this Maruman driver on tourspecgolf.  I really like the small look of it (I like compact drivers).   And the price is good.

Has anyone hit this driver?

Xxio is Dunlop's premium sister brand, like Lexus is for Toyota.
Yes Japanese brand, extremely popular in Japan and Korea currently expanding out globally.

This topic as most of you know, is highly subjectable  and personal. However if you want to know some of the high end JDM club manufacturer for drivers, you may want to look into the following; (no particular order, just as it comes to mind... question is how deep is your pocket?)

-Tourstage
-Xxio
-Fourteen
-Maruman
-Mystery
-Honma
-Epon
-Zeistime
-Zodia
-PRGR
-George Spirits
-Crazy
-Yamaha
to name a few... some of the gear mentioned, will be very hard to demo Wink

Anyone tried Kamui drivers before? I only have their earlier model of fairway woods which I am gaming now. So I am wondering if their drivers are just as good. Is this brand popular?

Yururi, Baldo and Zedo are also considered JDM brands.
