Hi all!

Not sure if this is the right segment to post.

I am a beginner looking to get myself acquainted with some basic golfing skills.

Any recommendation to share?

Cheers,
Emboss.

for a start, probably you would want to engage a coach for lessons?

Thanks dr_z8 for the suggestion.

Yes indeed I was looking around for courses to attend with my friend but was not sure about the effectiveness to begin with.

Most of the courses are 10 lessons (1 hr each) leading to certification.

word of advise would be try to take up lessons near your place of convenience. No point travel far away for lessons.

Youtube is a good place to start, if you don't mind the fees, engage a coach.

I would strongly recommend getting a coach and spending a lot of time at the range. In golf, it is extremely important to get your basics right. Welcome to the game!

Get a coach to work on fundamentals.
Not all coaches are the same.
You can start with 1-to-1 or -2 lessons

Get a coach, learn the basic and practice a lot.

After 3-4mths or so if you still have the passion, engage a 1-1 coaching package to tune your basic.

Hi Emboss,
I started with a coach, tried and tested. I never thought a club so far from my hand would hit the ball, but it did.  go to the green with the coach, where the actual learning starts! Mine ran round picking up my balls, and directing us like the army, but I loved it, and I was even more tired than him at the end of the session on the green.
Enjoy and more importantly, have fun doing it. cheers
