Some of us yesterday got into a weird conversation of good piano players will not be good golfers.

Anyway, on a similar note, what kind of music do you guys listen to?

Just another random survey from mR. mUAr_cHEe.

For me? I am a LP fan. I am still scheming how to get to Okinawa again mid August. So that I can be there for their Asian concert. :p

Oh yah. For the regular folk, LP is Linkin Park. They are a Nu-Metal Band based out of California. Their songs include Faint, In the End, Crawling and What I've Done.

Their latest song is the New Divide. Featuring song for the movie, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

I like to listen to their Underground stuff and most of my preferred songs are actually those that never made it to the charts as they were never put out as Singles.

I may listen to Mayhem, Slayer and Hell Hammer, but I am just a Barry Manilow & Nora Jones kind of guy at heart!

But seriously, I listen to many types of tunes--I even like some old TV show theme jingles.

As a young adult back in the 1980s, I listened sometimes to Mercyful Fate (King Diamond), Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Metal Church.

My cassette/CD collection had everything from David Gates & Bread, Bad Company, Styx, Heart, The Cars, Lynyrd Skynyrd to The Sex Pistols, Alice in Chains and Megadeth.

I'm into bossanova / light jazz right now so singers like Olivia, Susan Wong, Jheena Lodwick etc have my attention.

I also listen to Megadeth over and over again... mainly becoz of their melodic guitar riffs...

Grew up with Motown and Soul and a close 3rd is Reggae with honorable mention to any of the crooners like NKC, Sinatra etc., and Jazz (especially Sax and IvoryPian

I know, old stuff but wonderful memories embedded with these songs/artists.

I do enjoy a lot of diff today too but not a big fan of Classics, Opera, etc.

I gotta friend who can repeat/sing almost every hit country and western song and novelty ever made since 1940. Including RINDERCELLA & Slop Your Dripper; He's a freakin HEE HAW!!

MC, I like LP too...however its not Linkin Park but Long Plays haha.

I have always been a progressive house / trance fan since I was a teen. I still give my 2 decks and a mixer a good session nowadays when I'm bored but I stopped collecting them for awhile now. Have close to about 200 records.

Fan of Dave Seaman, Sasha, John Digweed, and Above & Beyond. Deep Dish for their housey beats too. I like Paul Van Dyk although he's a little more mainstream.

I also like those one off tracks remixing songs from the 80s or 90s.

Here is an example by Tall Paul doing INXS' "Never Tear Us Apart" to become "Precious Heart". Listened to it alot when I was in Perth:

PS: I didn't order the kissing. lol!

Digweed and Sasha's Northern Exposure series were excellent. A little old now, but still a very good listen.

Wah, i didn't know here got Bedroom Jocks also ah..... Missed those days man. Me used to collect too and spin every now and then. Deep Dish is one of my favourties, and when its chill out, then it will be thievery corporation.

Best experience so far, in the Zouk DJ console together with Aldrin, Jonathan Yeo..... was admiring their works from behind.. damn cool man.

Maybe one of these days we should exchange our collection. hehehe.. i got quite alot of global underground series.

Northern Exposure was good! Brings back alot of memories. OAN, Sasha's 11:29 Xpander track still being blasted at home every now and then...much to the chagrin of my wife. Laughing

Shotah, Aldrin is one of those wu liao local DJs. His CD is not bad wor.

I also have alot of GU series...but anyhow throw here and there liao.

You know which DJ has a good ear for tracks but suck at mixing? Nick Warren. Bugger can't mix properly and always zao beat. Laughing

Hehehe.. nice thread.. can more or less guesstimate the age of the forumers from the music preferences (except those classical, musical, opera type)..

Journey?? Long ago when I was in a band, "faithfully" was a very popular song to cover.

NB.. no hokkien song connoisseurs?
