| it is very necessary....
especially if your ball land on someone and requires medical attention....that someone may even sue you!
need some money for it...
It also cover thefts or accidents...eg bags falling off buggy and breaking/scratching clubs
Cover injuries such as falling off the buggy due to reckless partner... snake bites(if you hit the rough often) or even croc bite if you go visit the croc den at farmosa to retrieve golf balls...
finally...you get to treat your friends to 500 dollars worth of beer if you get a hole-in-one! _________________ We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

| Hi Sunny,
I do agree it would come in useful in scenarios of causing injuries to others due to stray balls, other injuries, hole-in-one and equipment repair.
But I am under the impression that it may be extra coz' some green fees do cover golfers' insurance for that particular day of play e.g played in a tournament in Batam last year. Broke my 7-iron and the club changed my shaft for free under insurance bought with the green fees I paid. So buying golf insurance, I thot may seem a bit 'extra' if most clubs factor in insurance coverage in their pricing of green fees.
Also maybe, GR members can share the cost of your golf insurance and its coverage? |

| Hi Asahi,
Not all of them have daily insurance. Moreover, some of those compulsory daily insurance has limited cover.
Someone has just informed me that he can get very competitive quotes for GR. I have given him a go ahead to get the quotes.
He'll post it once he get the figures and terms.
I know NTUC covers for 40+ or so and AIA for about 80+ and 100+(depending on whether you take the one that covers medical evacuation).
Some clubs have tie up with some insurers for cheaper insurance such like 30 or so.
HSBC offers free cover for their card members but you need to pay using their card. So it is going to be a problem if someone in the group sign on behalf of everyone. _________________ We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

| I am a member of a certain club and it is covered automatically by No Trouble Until Claim. It lives up to its namesake. I heard that the claimimg is a hassle and they make it difficult for you. I heard from one of my kaki that she tried to make a claim after her golf ball hit someone and she tried to claim medical claims for the injured party. It was a real hassle though I don't exactly know what transpired in between, but I heard from her that the lady over there told her that it was because it was 'accidental', cannot claim. Heck, that is what insurance is for right? To cover unexpected incidents like that and they give that reason for being unable to claim. So in the end, unable to claim a single cent. Would you believe that?

| i got mine from AIA, its below SGD100 for 1 yr. Gives you peace of mind against 3rd party injuries, and also lost/damaged equipment at a golf course. Haven't claimed anything yet, so I'm not too sure if it is claimable as advertised.
anyway, the subscription fee is not expensive, considering 3rd party injury claims can go up to 6-7 digit sums, worst if they are high earners, then paralyzed or dead.
another thought...does insurance cover injury when someone hit a 2nd shot before flight infront clears? The action sounds like a malicious intent and not an accident. |

You are right. I have just registered as well on their website. More so if I am playing overseas with clients as I used the card more for corporte functions.
Thanks. |
