What are black Satin KBS shafts? Another new special?

I only have KBS black nickel iron and wedge shafts; have not heard of black satin KBS?

I like the KBS, but probably don't have enough skill to enjoy the full "benefits". Nice smooth shaft, has a strange/weird kick at the end/impact;
Good for full shots, but a bit strange kick that I find hard to control non-full swing wedge shots.

when i last visited their factory in Taiwan last year, they actually have a satin chrome version made. i have requested for those but they are not ready for commercial production.

KBS is owned by FST or Femco Steel Technology. The shaft making business constitute 20% of their annual turnover. Kim Braly apparently works for them in designing after his old employer, Royal Precision was sold to True Temper some years back.

many people do not know that the Japanese KBS has a different label.

i think it would be cool if we can get a satin version with a platinum label. have asked but they said no even if i order 100 sets......

i have a couple of new shafts that i want to try out...

a FST stepless 100g shaft and some wedge shaft Hi-Rev - any volunteers?

here's the link....

DGMan, I tried KBStour on an ikasu blade 6-iron yesterday at your shop..very nice indeed. Penetrating flight, straight shots, no pulls or my usual fade. Possibly bcoz the stiff flex too?. I'll try my DG lites R flex for one season and see how it goes..but the seed has definitely been planted. Thanks for fixing my irons.

Got to decide if you are prepared to sacrifice distance for accuracy. I went to KBS Tour stiff and lost a couple of yards, but it feels better (i.e. more shiok at impact) and more accurate (no weird snaps and inconsistent yardage and accuracy).

for me it's accuracy over distance any time bro. Lesson learned from my 67 yr old dad who can still beat me on short par 4s. hope i get a chance to try your kbs-tour issued clubs when you're in town. Planted the seed, need put some water...

Distance and accuracy are mutually exclusive? Shocked scratch

you have a point there, have to hold ceteris paribus if comparing two shafts..

Won't be bringing my MGs back this time around, as my Cobra ProMBs are making the trip home first. If you're in Dubai, defo can arrange a round where you can try my MGs

Trying to decide now if I want to stick my 'new' KBS Tour Black Nickel iron shafts into my TM RAC MB Miura or my MP32s. grrr. decisions...

I think the price difference is not that huge, plus it's not like you change shafts every month. Don't get PX now and save a couple of tenners, then later regret not getting the KBSs...

the cost of reshafting, the depreciation in selling the PXs, etc will outweigh the savings from not getting KBS in the first place.

I think I know why KBS shafts feel so 'soft' even though the flex is stiff -- it's the tip. Try it out, then decide.

tour slut...

your 3 pcs of black tour KBS wedge is wrapped and await your pickup.

i will recommend what's right and we shall see what jurongtiger swing demands..of course the feel is also a major consideration.

Thanks, boss!

I'm thinking of switching out my RAC Black tour wedges from the old PX to KBS later this year.

Setup may look like this for my SG setup

TM RAC MB Miuras currently shafted with PX5.0, reshaft to KBS Tour Black Nickel (already have it, but I think Jeff no time to fit on Saturday and finish on Saturday? Still trying to find out when BFG reopens for biz after CNY)

TM RAC Black wedges currently shafted with Project 6.0, reshaft to KBS Tour Black Nickel wedge shafts (3 pcs)

Might just get this done in July when I come back

icejazz, go look for eric..... your swing will dictate whether u need a lighter or heavier shaft. i used to think i will benefit more from a lighter shaft as i m a lazy golfer Smile but eric has proven tat a heavier shaft suits my swing better. damn i hate carrying my bag ard!!!

Yes.. I make contact with Eric already. now trying to plan n fix a time to go down.... U guys are damn poisonous.. Just by reading this thread make me gian abt the shaft...
