PostSubject: Iron Selection   Mon Feb 01, 2010 7:02 pm

Based on an earlier thread by DGman, I would like to ask if anyone bases their selection of irons based ont he follwing criteria as mentioned by DGman.

"So its simply Shape, Setup, Size and Sound. Once you have all 4 criterias fulfilled; you pretty much have found the perfect driver head."

Personally I have not been able to try many clubs / brands / setup etc....So i really just based my preference on how the club feels in my hands during the swing.

For me it's just 3F: 1) Forgiving 2) Feel good and 3) Financially Responsible.

Accomplished players define feel as club giving good feedback on impact. Me not so much, I just define feel as it doesn't feel harsh on your hands if you mishit, and it feels soft on good hits. Can't really tell whether I hit the toe or heel, except when I hit it at the hosel i.e. the shanks
