Thanks for the invitation but I dont think i will be going today as I haven't bought my golf clubs. Sourcing for a 2nd hand to start off and will buy a brand new set once my swing is firm. But I might just drop by for a quick chat if possible later.
Thanks again and any tips for getting a 2nd hand set. May not be a branded clubs.

Wan23,

what is your budget for a 2nd hand set?
I recommend you get the irons first.. the rest can wait.. there is a nike set on ebay going for $699.. go check it out. Smile

Hi,
I saw that but not sure if i should get that 2nd hand set or just buy a new begineer set like adam or Wilson and change after my swing is okay.
What do you guyz suggest?
And do you know if there is any shop open during Chinese New Year?

everyone will have differing opinion...

i would rather get the set that belongs to the game improvement category and work my way into it, rather than get a beginner/super game improvement type and then have to change the iron in 6mths - 1 yr time.

That is what I was thinking. Is it possible to get a normal iron with a budget of $700? I'm looking at new set of iron.
Thanks

Maybe you can try Nike clubs at Lukewa, search for Lukewa's thread, their shop is at Ubi opposite TP HQ. Or you can consider Bridgestone J36, think helmeahmad has them selling for 699.

Ya, agreed with this approach....

However, most of them will go for beginner set and then -> change -> change and change again... Smile

$700 can get a set of very decent 2nd hand irons.

eg, Callaway X, Mizuno MX100, MX200, Ping G10. Taylormade burner

A lot of people selling good decent clubs for cheap.. Smile

no point buying new ones as a beginner.. less heartaches when you whack the mat during the swing...
