Even watching grass grow is funnier than Gurmit.
There is nothing sadder than Gurmit.
Gurmit is the epitome of depression.
I hear, at funerals, they hire Gurmit to make the mood sadder.

TFP

WRT the thread that you or mebbe ur friend who posed the question on golfwrx:

Joe Kwok, the reputable clubfitter there has spoken: The one with the thicker lines are version 1. The final version is the one with the thinner lines. He has also verified both versions are legit.

I'm sure your buddies at TMAG can give u a better insight since its their product. However, this is just another classic case of the quality of TM's products. I remember someone in the previous forum posting a pic of a purchase of a TM Burner with a 48" stock shaft from the defunct Golfer's Network. Goes to show how much effort they put into their QC.

By the time you have gotten your SuperTri or are just gettin to enjoy it, SuperDeep wud probably have been launched. Despite being a club ho myself, I shudder to think how I am suppose to keep up w them.

That is why he is TheFocalPoint and we are not.

opus wrote:

Maybe he has nothing better to do? Peace! Or just maybe he loves the sport more than you! Peace again! Whatever the reason is. That is why he is TheFocalPoint and we are not.

But if given me, I will just say my advise once, if you do not believe in it or unreasonable/non-cow-sensical question me, then I will say no more and let you continue to do whatever you like doing or believe in. Only 2 end results at the end of the day, either you are right and I wrong or you just have a jolly good time banging in the wall.

Now my take on the whole bloody matter,

1. How much does it really affect you if the equipment is real or fake? What happens if you are playing with a fake club better than a real club? Are you going to give up the fake club that is giving you better distance and more fairway hits?

2. Do you REALLY believe that the real products are that consistent? I will not mention brands but take your clubs, measure the loft and tell me how true is the real measurement to the specifications? Save for a couple of brands that have true QC and they do have 99% of their equipment that are not true to specification.

3. Believe most of us are social golfers here save for the exceptional few who wants to make it on tour or are already on tour. Are you bloody going to check your social mates or your boss' iron grooves for conformity to groove ruling? Do you REALLY bother and make a fuss when your mate has 15 clubs in the bag? and definitely, are you going to report that walk-in and last-minute-join-flight flight mate who have a bag full of fake clubs to the club manufacturer?

You want to make a point. Fine. Make it once. Do not need to make it a big deal and repeat and repeat and repeat. Be also true to your word and practice what you preach. You talk about staying on topic. Fine. But why confine it to only MarketPlace? Why not to the whole flipping forum? Won't that raise the overall standard of the forum?

I thank you for pointing out the potential fake-ness of TaylorMade products and I will keep an eye open for it. But if you do believe that it is such an issue and maybe to better protect your fellow golf-consumers and the community (which is what I assume you are trying to do by starting such a thread, I may be wrong again), pls directly report this "Vinc-dalooo" shop in Far East for fake TM Clubs or mistreatment of TM products on display on $3 plastic stools. Let the real authorities decide what is real and what is fake.

Pls also clarify your point of "Clubmakers by Passion". A dear friend of mine uses that slogan for his business and personal reputation. Pls be clear whether you are referring "Clubmakers by Passion" to the "Vinc-dalooo" shop in Far East or to Big Fish Golf? If you have a point to make, pls make it directly and openly instead of being ambiguous. Why fear if you believe that whatever you believe in to be truth and fact? If you do not believe what is truth and fact, then pls do not preach it. It just misleads others, which I do not think it is what you are trying to do, since I can understand your intent of starting such a thread.

And I mean no peace. I want to sort this matter out with you.

Why the difference?

wow opus! upz for u!

now i can really see the differences.... better make sure i dont buy the fake one....
thx thx

Hi Bro, as a layman don't get carried away. Let the expert do the analysing la. Have you heard of 'proto-type'? 1st version, 2nd and so on...... What DG man showed earlier could be an earlier proto-type. Good example in hand is the ZEN putters he has and we saw various editions from 1st edition to slowly later versions. Like I said, DG man has never let us down yet and I for one WILL NOT BE WILTED BY DIFFERENT OPINIONS from some people who may have an axe to grind or whatever. Has DG man failed us yet? My answer is a resolute NO !

quote MC :

1. How much does it really affect you if the equipment is real or fake? What happens if you are playing with a fake club better than a real club? Are you going to give up the fake club that is giving you better distance and more fairway hits?

MC, UPZ for you. I am using a Nike Sumo Tour 460. I bought it thru the net from a golfer whom I do not know and the chances is that it is probably a fake. Since I paid a good amount of money for it, I changed the shaft and played with it. Would you believe if I tell you it stayed in the bag for almost 3 years now? Despite spending more than thousand moolahs on other new 'genuine' drivers after the Sumo, and tried throughout this 3 years, NOTHING can kick it out of its well deserved place, that is in my bag. SO WHAT IF I BOT A FAKE? It serves me better than the rest of the genuine ones which I have tried. Just recently, I bought a new R9 from the States and I believe it is a genuine TM. Have not try it out at the range yet but guess what? Head made where? China. Shaft Motore 65 also made in CHina. Assembled? China. So what? Everything currently are made in CHina. My point here , like what MC said, if the club works for you, DAMM IF I CARE WHERE IT IS MANUFACTURED ! Well this is just me. Sunday morning too free but just need to add in my opinion. Evil or Very Mad

another ups for MC..

i must confess here that i am using a fake Mp68(i) from China. Why i buy it? becoz it is value for money, and its nice with mizzy butter, it has recently given me a 79 n 81 which i have never manage to get in 10 yrs...

Is it the club? maybe, maybe not.....

But one thing for sure, playing with fake club has not yet give me a fake/questionable personality...(i hope, pls dun shoot ah...i know i sound yaya here hehe)

I guess its all a culture thing.

Most Americans here will rather be caught dead than play fake clubs. I say 'most', not 'all' because I have seen people here playing clone or fake clubs. In Sg, no one will bat an eyelid whether you have the real deal or not.

Do I think any lesser of people who use them or have them in possession? No. Its how you conduct yourself as a person on the course and in life that people judge and base you on. Character speaks volumes, not what you have in your bag.

Willy, you know you can still play decent golf with a broomstick and a pail. Laughing I for one will still find you a good person and a favourable flight mate no matter what clubs you have in your bag. Wink

OK, I really don't think I should be engaging in child-like banter any longer..

To people like MC, SBH and and68low, HW or whatever S$%k C%^k Brothers you call your pathetic selves, I don't know you, I don't wish to, and vice versa.

So let's just leave things as it is... you can have my apology for whatever reason you may want it for, but i'm only obliging because you don't matter enough for me to care. Ta!

a little bit of empathy is what is needed here, but i doubt you lack ignorance in this matter, thus your reply do come across as pompous, arrogant and if i dare say colonial..... however as we speak, EU is having crisis of its own while the big red machine is still marching on, dun be surprised in the next decade or so, your boss could be one of these "straw hat tourist with ancient camera"
