i use 60* for sand and for 50-60m approach.
i am not comfortable with choking down or 1/2 swing, 3/4 swing.
so if i can, i usually lay up ard 100-110m and use my PW.
however, if i am nearer than that then at least i know it is just a full swing and anyone of the wedges (52, 56 and 60) that i have.

its alot easier to use the loft instead of opening the face..IMO.

Bro,
I think 60 is quite difficult to use. Bunker play can use, and open clubface, but I'd rather go for 56 for the last wedge.

My current setup is 51, 54, 58. Sometimes I carry 56, depends on my mood Wink

60° I feel is a good to have but not a MUST have.

I own a 48°, 54° and 60°. Notice I have a decent interval lofts on my wedges so that each wedge has its distinctive purpose. i.e. 48° is meant for shots between 50-90m, 54° is meant for anything below 50m while 60° acts as my sand/ lob wedge.

Getting a 60° seems to be a pretty straightforward choice since your wedges are all at 4° intervals, but you got to first ask yourself what do you intend to use it for or do you have any use of it in the first place? The last thing you want is to go to your bag and hesitate on which wedge to use because both wedges seems to play for the same purpose...

this is a better advice as compared to my "buy it, try it and PM me if you decide to sell" one.

Bro nrafee,
Don't worry about it, practice more and the distance will come naturally... Smile

I play a P, 54* for 110 meters and in and 60* from 80 meters. Chip around the green with 60* wedge, too.

My TM 60 w/ 6 degrees bounce for shots below 50 m from fairway.
Used to use it for sand bunker as well but harder to get out.
So got a 54 vokey with 12 degree bounce for sand.
Much better now. Me thinks you need higher bounce if your sand shots not there yet.
Cool

I carry my 60* for around the green from 65 m inwards. My sand gives me from 65 - 80m. My Gap from 80-95 and pitching from 95 - 110m.

hmm.. our distance is almost the same. But normally with 60* I dig lots of divots, and my ball flies only 40m...

that's why I switched back to 58 which is a little bit easier for me...

Those distance are only when I hit my balls clean ha ha. Frequently you see the divot fly before the ball does ha ha ha White Flag

Haha. True. Especially for wet ground.
Whole chunk of grass comes off and chip only 10, 20 metre Sad

Its quite dependent on whether you have confidence in it or not. For me, anything inside 65m, I just grab my 60 and my putter. No other club in mind .

I have a CG14 60* and just bought a vokey SM 60*, I love the CG14 60* and basically use it for all my chipping. The thing I like about 60 is that it doesn't give much roll on the green and stops close to where it lands. So if I can be more accurate(which currently I'm not.. haha) then it can be a powerful weapon. So now I just got the Vokey SM to try to play with back spins. haha. just for the fun of it :>

just my 2 cents worth

60* is quite useful actually. And with Lukewa selling the black satin for 68 bucks (if im not wrong), it's quite a steal. I have all my wedges in the Nike VR, it it works great and feels great. But the metal is abit soft and mine has lots of dings and chips on the sole and the face.

the 60* is especially useful on elevated greens and you are just below the green and the pin is quite near to where you are. Also useful when you have to carry a bunker and the pin is 2-3m after the bunker.

But having said all these, if you are already doing all these with ur 56* right now and it works well for you, why change?

My personal preference is to always do with minimum clubs... hence, instead of adding one more club - 60*, I dropped the 56* and got a 58* instead. Am happy with just 52* and 58* to meet all my needs.

I used to use my 60* for my bunker shots or highly elevated greens...

But nowadays, I prefer using my 58* wedge for this shot.
