Not really, buying watch is kinda of one time purchase ... but golf can be somethings that needs constant tweaking here and there .... eg changing shaft to match with the heads with respect to your swing speed can be quite a journey and costs.... Razz

If can buy Pam, then high taste loh ...... golf got also high class equipment ranging from Drivers, woods, irons, shafts, etcs.... need $ and time and patience..... Cool

hey hillgreen. what i meant was golf equiments as i mentioned like a TM driver is cheaper than watches. I understand that some homma golf sets can be very exp too. Don't mean to stir anything, am sincerely trying to get feedbacks from u guys regarding the drivers only.

i dun know how it compares...

but the feedback i am getting from others is that R9 SuperTri is dead straight but plays shorter than most drivers....

no comment on the SuperFast Burner as I have not used it yet, but it looks damn good.

To me, buying watches doesn't show that 1 got high taste or no taste. Its just abt whether u appreciate a watch brand anot. Seikos and many other bread and butter watches are worn by many collectors too Wink

agree with u on the burner muar chee. The top profile of the driver looks good(got some carbonfibre print). Somemore i think its pricing is not too exp too. Saw it on golfio for abt 230usd

Pam 270 10 days GMT is a good choice............

Supertri feels much softer and less harsh than earlier R9

I was in far east sc earlier, shaft is so long! I meant the superfast. If u can control a shaft more than 46inches, sure to gain some yards on it. Only 399. Good px too.

Having tried both the Burner Superfast and the R9 Supertri recently, I find the Superfast well balanced even though the shaft is longer than 46 inches. I've tried earlier iterations of longer shafted drivers and they haven't always worked out. Being shorter then the average might have something to do with it since I have to swing much flatter than I am used to. The Superfast surprised me by being easy to hit right out of the box. Launch was high and straight even though the face is deep. This had to do with the very low cg I was told. Very stable through impact which itself felt explosive. Sound at impact was tuned to sound just as explosive, a solid 'thwack', not tinny or piercing at all. The driver sets square and is visually the more triangular of the two here, but definitely with a refined head shape more acceptable than the previous Burners. Even the edges of the dual crown have been softened. The carbon fibre print on the crown adds to the 'go-faster' look as well.

The R9 Supertri launched lower than the Superfast. It wasn't as stable, thereby giving allowance for shotshaping. Impact and sound was just as explosive as the Superfast. I took more time to adjust to the Supertri than I did with the Superfast. Visually, the Supertri sets square, and although still somewhat triangular in head shape, had more of a conventional look to it.

Overall, I got the impression that the Burner Superfast was for the player seeking distance, as well as an easy launch that kept the ball in the fairway. And the R9 Supertri was more for the somewhat accomplished golfer who had no problems keeping the ball in the fairway, but wants a driver that he can work left or right on command.

But that's just my point of view. As I was told, you really have to try them both out to see which one works best for you versus your Titleist 909 D2 which is also a very good driver. Both TaylorMade clubs are touted as long drivers, it's just where your distance will come from, the Burner Superfast? Or the R9 Supertri?

Or should you in the end just remain with your 909 D2?

That is a nice, balanced review. As golfers, most of us must have gone thru many equipment change over the years. Drivers have gotten more forgiving over the years. If I am honest, at my level of play, I doubt I add tens of yards everytime I change driver. But it feels shiok everytime

i owned the superfast with matrix-ozix shaft (stock) US R-flex... after 2 weeks of using it, conclusion, more distance 10% more... super light thus contributing to faster swing speed... easy to hit / launch (even off center)

the length of the driver does not make it harder to hit... that's really surprises lot of us.

IMHO this driver suits most of us, re-creationist golfers!

I think the Superfast driver really gives u the distance, recently my wife just bought a superfast also in the matrix shaft (L), I tried it and its like 30m more than my current R9 460.

I was choosing R9 supertri and burner superfast. Since I don't need that kind of control offered by super-tri and I don't think I have the time to tweak and control, I settled for burner superfast as it is few $$$ hundred dollars cheaper. No regrets. I really surprised me with the better control and longer distance than my Burner 09. Good price for a newly launched driver. Go for it!!!!

Maybe how about Nike SQ Machspeed? It's shaft is 45.75 inch long. around 315g. It offers the sort of control as r9.

Actually in SG, more or less TM product pricing are quite std across....Alternatively you can checkout this forum market place coz at times, there are some quick buyer and seller...

Or...buy fm online....3balls and rockbottom are 2 quite popular ones.

I find both very forgving

but I find the Burner Superfast longer.

I wonder if the Burner superfast TP also gives the same distance???

What I find kinda annoying with TM driver is...
they come out with new driver models almost every 4 to 6month.

Like right now, they have R9 SuperDeep
which is preferred by Kenny Perry & Sergio Garcia...
and will be using this for the upcoming US Open
