Daren: Sounds solid. U up for something similar if I can get us another 3 ball? Just curious but how much did you spend total for the complete package plus airfare + tips etc etc. This is just to set and outer order of magnitude for the rest of the guys in the flight.

I really had no idea but we did spend alot cos we played during the weekends.
a ball park figure would be about SGD2k. (Including air ticket on SQ, hotel, golf, massage, makan, tpt)
tips very cheap Smile abt 100-200k

darren,

I feel you. It's just that I live in Jakarta and work in Bogor. So it is only natural for me to play those courses as I can squeeze in a quick round early in the morning and still be in the office around 9. Laughing

But generally I like those courses more as they are more challenging.

Royale are long. Nice course, nice clubhouse. But I found the fairways are too soft and the greens are weird. It is fast and hard, no matter how hard you try you just can't generate the right kind of spin to play it right. Feels unnatural for me.

Just my 2cents...

You are right about Royale, the greens are ridiculously hard as they use the same grass on the green and fairway. That is why it is challenging. Plus its really long.

This is my breakdown of golfing in HCMC.

Green Fees + caddy Fees - average USD$70 (BUggy additional) (Playing weekdays are always cheaper and on GOlf Days, even cheaper)
Caddy Tips - USD$5 - USD$10

Booking a car to cater for your transport for golf - USD$50 (Depends on model / type)

Hotels - if not particular about name. Have many good, clean "friendly" budget hotels located smack right in the city for USD$30 and above.

If want to know why friendly have " ", send me a pm.... Twisted Evil
