Mate i don't think your arms are the primary problem in this swing. You should be more concerned about the legs and the body shape you have. Opposite of what I would like to see

Correct this an maybe then your arms will be able to do what you want them to do. This is the secondary issue Beer

Maybe too much lateral lower body movement?
Left Knee should have lesser movement.
I not pro, but just what i was taught.

the lateral movement looks alot, and the amount of rotation of the shoulders and hips are almost the same.... I think the shoulder should turn more than the hip....

let's wait for other pros to comment so I can learn also... hehe

Hi Aloyboy,

In my opinion, the following maybe your weaknesses in your driver swing:

1) Swing plane a little too flat.
2) Upswing is a little too much inside.
3) Try to minimize lateral head movement on the upswing.

Well, if you can still drive straight and long, stick to your swing then. tongue

BTW, I notice that you spent a ton on equipment ... Smile

Cheers,
Turbo

I think, everyone has agreed that there is a bit too much lateral movement on the back swing.

But I dont think anyone has mentioned ball position so far, it seems to be too far back in your stance for a driver, and hence you need a large amount of lateral movement to get behind the ball. Take a look at ernie at address, his head is already well behind the ball.

Maybe try to move the ball a little further forward in the stance, any lateral movement that currently exists in your swing will probably lead to a whole host of poor shots to start with, but sticking with it will hopefully lead to less lateral movement in the long run.

Feel free to shout if you totally disagree.

Coach, in this instance, if you are not guided, the chances of developing a reverse pivot situation is very real right as the head has a tendency to lean towards the target rather than away if our weight is on the left leg? YOu know what I am talking about right? How do you avoid that?

Bro Aloyboy,

What was the result of the swing above? Was it long and straight? Or it sprayed left or right? What was the ball flight like?

bro aloy,
the last few games with u, ur driver is already long and straight.. not sure what u want to achieve.. from 250m to 270m? Ur tempo is smooth and have good consistency most of the time, on ur drive.
But ur iron shot can be better.. maybe u can post ur iron swing next time..

then, u can start giving strokes hor cheers

Where got weight on left leg??? Interesting when you look at these pictures. Looks like more weight on right leg to me. Looks can be deceiving.

But you are right if not guided correctly a reverse pivot can be a possibility. To avoid it get the correct set up shape, and turn in the right direction. Easy to do if you practice in a mirror. Cant be done from the wrong set up

I could have sworn it looks like more weight is on the left leg than right from your picture. Well, since you said so it must be it. Thanks coach.
