PostSubject: Just Saying Hi!   Sun Oct 10, 2010 10:07 pm

Hello to all GR members!

Chanced upon this forum when searching for some equipment reviews and here I am! Just a short introduction about myself.. I've been playing this game on and off (with breaks for as long as 2 to 3 years) for quite sometime using a set of pass-downs - Tiger Shark clubs and a Callaway Hawk Eye. I still remember reading this huge book of golf rules and swing illustration by Greg Norman which I vaguely recall that it came with the pass-downs as well. To keep it short, the book was my only guide as I could not afford to have lessons at that time.

It's only about half a year back I've picked up the game more seriously due to work requirements. I've bought myself a set of TP Burners '09 without doing any homework and ended up with stiff shafts which I suspect contributes alot to my stray shots. Till now, I've accumulated quite a number of different clubs mainly due to the manufacturers' fantastic marketing techniques and the proshops' sales pitch What a Face I still remember I've bought the TM Raylor at $399 just because the guy said it was the best rescue club in the world, it's new and I'd be the envy of my kakis. lol!

I've since learnt my lesson to read up more before making purchases..

Currently in my bag are:
TM 460
TM Raylor
Callaway Diablo Edge FW 5
TM Burner '09 irons
Vokey 60.8
Odessey White Ice Blade putter

I'm looking to do something about my shafts and also test the Miura irons soon.. will post updates here!

Hi jeanxavier, welcome to Golf Republic.

Miura blades... nice. Mine is the CB301 with matrix shaft. Did you get yours at Torque?

Thanks for the welcome mloy~

Yep got mine at Torque, bought it without experiencing any hard sell tactics in contrast to the situations mentioned in my first post. Stanley and the guys there are pretty nice.. in fact I went with a friend about 3 times to test the clubs with range balls that they freely provide before deciding to make the purchase. Abit paiseh.. Embarassed

Me am a sista. Me very innocent one. The brudders here are sometimes very mean but actually they are pretty nice people.

Yes Stanley and Joe are nice. How often do you range at Laguna?

Hello slinger..... don't anyhow say ah. I won this year only and its the double peoria format. I was just lucky. I'm not good enough to play stroke play. You give me 9-9 I also might lose.

Blue matrix shaft would be none other than GR Champ. Just say hi and she would reply: 9-9?

See you on Saturday, mloy!

I must agree that it helps quite alot - provided if I don't mis-hit it! I feel that the shaft is abit too long for my comfort and will be bringing it along to the fitters soon Smile

Bro, You did not say which TM Raylor did you have (#2, 3, 4 or 5 ?). I am sure you knew the club shaft are rather in standard length when you brought it off the shelf and shorten the shaft will shorten your distance too. Do consider this before you have it shorten Laughing

You got me puzzled there, I thought the Raylor only come in 2 specs - the 19degree and 22degree lofts? I think mine's the 19degrees one, can't remember and it's in the car now so abit lazy to check Cool
