That's really sad.

I hope the report is not true but Yes may not be the only one to suffer the same fate.

every golf equipment brand with exposure in the US market is affected. The downturn has an immediate effect on the survival of the brand.

the problem with Yes has always been division. division of markets and the reality of sales versus tour support. the tour wins are not translated to sales and the incentive for the tour dries up all their resources. there are too many SKUs in their inventory and too many levels of products. In Thailand alone, it seems they have the US, Europe and Japanese range and the price range from S$150 to S$450. the PI are killing the price structure but more importantly, it is destroying the brand value because of the quality and price.

I spoke to the ex-Japanese distributor not too long ago and he told me that while they ordered 2000 pcs of the studio series, they were only allocated about 10%. the reason was the brand was so engrossed with the US market that they did not have resources and capital to service the rest of the world.

Production wise they have had all kinds of trouble because they are always looking for price and have gone from one production house to another. since beginning of last year, i was told that it was cash only or no one was going to do anything for them.

have seen a YES titanium prototype mid this year so i guess, thats not going to see the light of day anytime soon.

Anyway the inventor bailed out long ago. its sad but its the cruelty of business.
