PostSubject: Re: Information of GR Charity Golf Tournament   Fri Aug 14, 2009 6:42 pm

I chose to put this as a separate topic as I do not want all the main information to be lost in the midst of our TCSS.

Details:
Date: 21 August 2009
Time: Starting from 1202.
Venue: Warren Golf & Country Club

Warren will be taking care of our administration needs. For those driving, just drive around to the bag drop, drop your golf bag and let them know you are here for the GolfRepublic Tournament. Later come around again to the bag drop area and there will be Warren staff to check you in the tournament. It will be very much appreciated if you can provision for time allowance for your admin matters and be at the tee box 15 minutes before you tee time.

Goody Bag:
1 new BFG magnetic putter cover (for those who do not have one)
1 pack of Aroma Tees
1 TrueSpa Voucher
1 MAZU Hair Spa Voucher
Dessert from Ji De Chi

Prizes:
Champion and 1st Runner-up: Ikasu Raw Black Wedges with lofts of your choice (53°, 57° or 60°) and with the shaft of your choice (Dynamic Gold, KBS or SteelFiber)
2nd and 3rd Runner-up: Skins Sports

Nearest to Pin Hole 4: A box of Titlelist Pro V1s
Nearest to Pin Hole 7: A box of Titlelist Pro V1s
Nearest to Pin Hole 11: Sundog Sunglasses of your choice (Subject to Stock Availability at BigFish)
Nearest to Pin Hole 14: Sundog Sunglasses of your choice (Subject to Stock Availability at BigFish)

Ladies Longest Drive Hole 2: Impact Stick Lite
Men Longest Drive Hole 13: Impact Stick

Ladies Hole-in-One Prize for any Par 3 hole: A Kiss from frosTee
Men Hole-in-One Prize for any Par 3 hole: A French Kiss from mervyntan

Format of play: Double Peoria Stableford

Program

It is simple.

Come.
Golf.
Submit Score Card.
Bathe. Rendezvous at Golfer's Terrace where Donation presentation will be held.
Subsequently, we will announce scores and do the prize presentation. To further simplify matters, for those people who have won a prize but did not stay for the presentation will be considered 'OBed' or 'DQ' and prizes will then be presented to the next person. If all else fails, an impromptu lucky draw will be held to clear the prizes. All must go on that day!

Acknowledgments
At this moment, I would like to thank the people who have contributed so far:

The Participants! (We managed to get together $1,140 from the $150!)
Prototype Vs. Ikasu Participants ($350)
S70B ($200)
Mrs. DGman ($200)
TorqueGolf ($200)
icebocc ($150)
Sunny+moon ($150)
G_Man ($140)
Mr. and Mrs. technospaz ($100)
Ken ($50)
ethee ($50)
lamts18 ($50)
shotah ($50)
McCaddie ($50)
kwseow ($50)
Fabulous ($50)
Ssquirrel ($50)
Uncle_Lau ($20)
Duval_S ($20)

Which brings us a grand total of $3,070 till date (August 18, 2009).

I will update the donation amounts as we go along. Unfortunately, I have to impose a closing date for the donations on Aug 19, 2009 as we need time to process a cashier's order so that no individual name will appear in our donation to Autism Association.

I myself have sponsored for the Warren's tournament admin fee of $150.

Aside from the monetary effort,

Thanks will be given to:

BigFish for sponsoring the prizes (Covers, Tees, SKINS, Wedges, Impact Stiks).
slinger for sponsoring the prizes (2 boxes of Pro V1s).
True Spa for sponsoring the massage vouchers.
MazuSalon for sponsoring a complimentary hair spa.
Ji De Chi for sponsoring deserts after the game.

Thanks also to be given to the rest of the committee. Compared to the last 10/10 game where I almost ran the whole thing solo, it is so much easier to manage this one.

sunny (indian chief)
missmoon (indian chief-ess)
S70B (objective)
Katherinechiok (for sitting there and looking pretty)
G_Man (for direction and going-ness)
siaw8 (for stress relief-ness, sit there and give us suan)

icebocc (for negotiating with Warren)

and also to the rest that help out in their own little ways.

I know you all will thank me for underwriting. Razz

Pls feel free to pm me or email me at muarchee(at)gmaildotcom for any further clarification or inquiry.

For everyone's $150 fees, $120 went to Warren for Green Fees and the rest of $30 went into the participant's donation pool. Only icebocc and shotah's $30 was excluded due to simplifying the accounting process as they are paying for Member Green Rates but as you can see from the above post that they have also donated their share individually.

I have locked this thread to try to keep this thread clean and easy to refer to.

For all further discussion, intelligent or not, pls continue here.

The Adopted Charity: Autism Association (Singapore)

Thanks so much for showing interest in our Association and wanting to help our autistic children and youths!

We
appreciate your kind donation very much! The donation will be very
handy to us and it will be used in the construction of our new school
building for Eden School (under the management of Autism Association
Singapore as well).

The current Eden School is located at Yuan
Ching Road and the new school which is under construction now is
located at Bukit Batok West Avenue 3.

Please access http://www.autismsg.org/autism/index.html , to get more info about Eden School and the new school building.

On 21st August 09 (Friday) at Warren Golf and Country Club, there will be
representatives from our Association to distribute brochures or
relevant donation forms etc to your members as well as to collect the
donation.

Thanks a lot in advance for helping autistic children and youths under the care of AAS!

We would also like to thank icebocc and Warren Golf and Country Club for:

1. Waiving the advance booking fee
2. Reducing the amount of green fee per non-member by $10
3. Reducing the admin fees from $300 to $150.

This has increased the amount going to charity significantly
