I have always found that the easiest club to hit since I started was my most lofted club in the bag.

Back then, 56* was it. When the 60 became more popular, I found it even easier cos now shots go higher n stopped quicker.

Those of u who r having trouble hitting it is very likely due to 2 factors - technique n mental. Many do not understand how to play a standard pitch, a higher lob or a low checker all with the same club. A fear of shanking, thinning or duffing is also a likely probability for the lack of confidence. That's where understanding n imagination come into play, with a decent coach explaining n teaching u how to do it.

Back to the Driver - Despite the fact that I love to collect clubs, I only have about 6-7. Compared to 20+ putters n 20+ wedges, I dun think that is a lot.

I have never been blessed w being accurate off the tee. However, if I am having a bad swing day, I would rather miss it long than take a 3wd or hybrid n miss it short n crooked. Reason being that I have only direction to battle if I am wild w the big stick compared to both length n direction w the shorter clubs.

That said, I do not hit driver for every par 4 or 5 I face. If my landing zone is fulla trouble, I will play short of them n trust my longer clubs to hit the green.

That is why Keppel is never on my list of fav courses as I prob hit my Driver a max of 5- 7 times...

PJ, u wanna buy some? Razz

Mal, hard to type into words. There are a few ways to do it. If translated wrongly, can lead to disastrous results.

Both square or open club face can be employed but the shot itself requires some practice. The right lie is required and bounce is essential.

Better to talk about it next time we meet. Wink
