PostSubject: Sufferers of long distance bombardment   Fri Nov 19, 2010 8:34 am

My last 3 games have been nothing but shocking........coz I am still in the state of shock of the inhumane long drivers ....

Its now dawn on me , that to have any remote chance of not slowing down the flight...I have to learn how to use my woods.....well first of all I need to buy one, which I did sometime back but its more to put glamour on my bag ie I carry wood leh...(macam can use..hahaha)

But seriously, for me being a very real short hitter and if there is anybody like me, we really need to step up and embrace wood.....Hybrid is good but especially on par5, I am convinced wood is a must

So....I am going to dedicate my last 2 weeks of Dec to learn how to grip, setup and swing a fairway wood....

dear SB, you may be short on your drives, but you are always the first to arrive on the green

DS, get the easiest wood int he market to hit, the maruman shuttle series (black sole one). THere is a 3,5 and 7 at the den so you can always pop by and try.

With the least number of strokes to get there, if I may add.

Thanks Duffy (ok to call you by shorter nick.?.. cheers ) for the recommendation....will do so.

I am currently with my Cannaway Steelhead 4 wood.....playing with the wood is macam Halloween....'Trick or Treat'......sometime can move the ball....sometime the ball just jump off the ground and then land 4 meters away.....

BUT YES, I will aspire and perspire till expire.....for its imperative that I need to play with wood when I get the chance to be ASS-ed

Well, the secret of the cannaway or "kanninlaoeh(in my context)" woods is on your back swing, make sure your club reach only the top of the back swing at the end of shouting the words, then, that will ensure slow take back swing. Works well for me...

Shifu, I honestly want to try to play like a real golfer....am pretty sick of playing predicatable golf...no flair...no style...no X-factor.......

unlike the few I had the chance to witness....they are so long....par 4 macam par 3 to them....for par 5, they can admire the scenery becos try to 2 on.....

so pls bear with me....after my 2 wks of intense reading and theory....I should be ok...all I want is to have a chance (even if remote) to be like you

Sibeh Drama.... albino

But I can relate to how you feel as I am usually 50m behind my flight mates' drives.
Don't worry about how long ppl hit.. worry more if they approach chun chun and putt chun chun...

I also dunno how to hit woods, but relax lah.. can always resort to "gamesmanship"..hehehee..

Bro Duval
As the saying goes:
"It's not how you drive but how you arrive"
Another goes:
"Drive for show, putt for dough ($$$$)"

I have a few friends who are constantly 20 - 30 metres behind me on tee-off but they still play a par or bogey game (3 on 1 putt or 2 putts max) and they catch me on par 3s.

So why use a wood a "spray" your shots all over the place and end up have to play recovery shots?

My 2 cents worth..hor....

bro...can give a big hint on the 'gamesmanship'? The folks I am playing all already quite chun in approach and chun in putt....(ok, maybe not that chun chun....but still quite chun).
