Soren Hansen who was playing at the Barclays asked me on the putting green on practice day monday, if the lie angle on his GSS NP 2 and the T10 Tour issue were right.

i asked him to make 5 strokes with each putter.

My answer for him was simple.

1. he prefers the feel off the T10, but the toe design on the T10 was different from the GSS NP two, hence it gave him the feeling that it was upright. i also asked him to take aim then cover his left eye and then the right eye. He knew immediately that while the head appears square, it is actually open.

2. he likes the set up of the GSS and when timed, he sets up faster with this than the T10. his left hand was also more neutral in the set up leading to less pulls on the bad putts.

i think i spotted him using the GSS afterwards.

Moral of the story: its not what brand or make you buy. make sure the putter is set up visually and physically to your putting stance, style and abilities. The brand don't make the putt but having the right setup makes it easier as there is less manipulation.

if not even the most expensive putter is no better than an umbrella in the wrong hands.

Why putt when you can chip in!

Anyway, I think a good putter is important. It inspires confidence and I'll tell you what... if you putt well on a hole and you save a par or score a birdie, it inspires you to drive well on the following hole. So, the benefits of a good putter extend beyond the green Smile

Let's have a game... I believe you can chip in all the time so I'll forfeit your putter. Razz

If only. I can chip in when I play Lets Golf 2 on my iPhone. Oh well..

I used to have a black series i (with insert) but dont really like the feel when the putter hits the ball.. im not really sure how does soft/hard feels but i like to feel the click when i hit the ball (something like a ping sound).. i'm inclined towards the black series to save some $$ but have no chance to try cos i cant find it in sg.. only can buy from tgw..

Bro, if you can, come over to BFG at bukit merah to try out the zen putter. The putting area is really impressive, close to the real putting green.

Edit: Btw don't say I never warn you, once you try the feel of zen putters... Kind of hard to get accustomed to other putters... Unless it's a putter that you have trusted for a long long time.

yes i think ill try to find a time to go down. any idea what time they close? Zen putters also quite $$ right? same price as a scotty?

if bro gary likes the "ping" sound/feel, then the Scotty NP does a good job producing it.

Tried Jhan18's black series tour design #9 putter. It felt less metallic (ping!) than the NP. I believe Pan West carry the black tour series.

if you go to PW, do try the Cleveland classic putter. Also produces nice Ping! feel/sound, to me.

Gary, if the Zen doesn't tickle your fancy (which I think is unlikely), I have the old Black Series #2 (un-used) for sale.

Nope...I wasn't. Still happy with 909. Actually liked Slinger's Supertri better. No problem bro, I practised very early, stayed around to buy balls and pay my debt to Jhan only.

So how did Slinger's reconnaisance mission go? Any new ratings on top of JC's?

@ Bro Pushslice.......FOCUS bro......Jan 4th is only 35 days away.......we need to peak at the right time....so make sure you have plan in place to fully exhaust out all bad shots...

for me, the tool which allow me to join MOG has been endorsed by someone very proefficient in the art of Snake catching and I hope it will give me more GIR.

dun worry partner, I only have two games till Jan 4th. Must get rid surplus of bad shots at low stakes games (for coco, $5 type), then hopefully be ready for the big stakes with the star division golfers.

Saw Slinger's pitching at Warren...maannn no wonder he's a champion.
