My gawd, with this type of pricing. I think no one want to relinquish their car anymore. Even they have to, they would rather extend the COE for another 5 yrs to wait and see. Also, because they are worried that they cant afford another one after that.

Do you know that at that time, a lot of car owners sold off their car for a profit after driving it for 3 years ??? It was an appreciating asset at that time and not like now, a depreciating asset. Wonder if it will happened again? What goes round must come around again sometime. Wonder if the time has arrived ??? scratch Mine coming to 3 years liao... Very Happy

COE is garmen way of help us to save money. U see, you buy a car, and after 10 years, you get back the COE value....if you think about it, its macam endowment plan.

So when times are good (ie bull run), garmen afraid many will splurge on shares...so COE will go up, then garmen indirectly help the buyers to save for 'rainy day or days'

You don't reaLLY get back your COE in cash, do you? So it's like your CPF! You'll NEVER see all of it!

We are the only Place on earth where a piece of paper cost $72K. Evil or Very Mad No setup cost or whatsoever... 1 paper that can last 10Years for you to "enjoy" your ride on the road.

imagine a near 2 yrs 5K COE car selling 20K above what i paid for while my COE was at 22K when I bought my car.. I wonder who will buy these 2nd hand car... Shocked
