PostSubject: A PC delimma   Fri Dec 10, 2010 8:57 am

I am often asked if there is a PC issued at the end of beginner lessons.

There are 2 types of PC.

Only one is recognised by "big" Golf Clubs, MBGC for example, that is an SGA recognised PC. As far as I know there are only 3-4 academies registered to issue SGA PC's.

They involve a lot more knowledge than just completing a beginner package...

This is just for peoples information, it is not a pitch.... Beer http://www.singaporegolfservices.com/blog

Did you read the blog? :-)

A beginner PC will get you on short courses to gain experience. An SGA PC is recognized at all courses.

Agree! If you pay $300 for PC and $350 for Handicap why would you do PC?

The reason is because someone is making money twice.... :-)

Exactly the reason why I refuse to go thru this cycle... more like a money making tool than a real need...

PC is actually not a must... it is just a avenue for you to play on some courses and some 18 holes so you can collect 5 scorecard

Yups ... I've got friends who skip their PC and went straight for HCP... others who got their PC than accumulate score cards in 1 mth... than shortly got their HCP.

Its a matter of how confident and how fast you would like to have your HCP.

I read and rely a lot on this http://www.mygolfkaki.com/handicap/handicap.aspx

Didn't know can bypass PC. Good thing is it 'force' you to play a couple of games.

If i put it in layman term, PC is like our NRIC, recognised in Singapore only. You need a passport to leave Singapore, HC is our Passport. Beer

I know none the better previously and took a SGA recognised PC, only to realise later of the limitation of a PC, especially in Singapore. Boy, am I glad I sat for the HC test.

he bought from neighbouring country, exchange rate applies. so if 20hcp, means 20/2.3 = 8.7hcp. Smile

Why bother with a PC? You dont need a PC. PC is useless, just go straight for HCP instead.

P/S: I almost choked seeing ZX's post...
