Coach Daniel Ng of Asian Golf Academy (Bishan) is good. He can be contacted at 9.8.I.6.9.2.6.2, say Poh Chuan recommended you to him.

Hi edisun,

I've just completed my training package from JT golf academy at Bishan Driving range and I must say that I'm very satisfied with my coach.

I've been taught by Darren Carroll from this academy and he is the 2nd coach that I've had since I started golf 2 years ago.

Darren is very different from the first coach that I've had.

Through his years of experience in coaching different levels of students, he is able to address my problems systematically and provide me with useful tips and drills that I can practice at home.

I must also say that he is very patient and understanding because I've injured myself twice due to work commitment and had to put off golf for a period of time, he just ask me to take my time to recuperate before I go back to him for lessons. (my first coach told me die die must complete all my lessons within 3 months if not will forfeit .. )

You can read more about his profile in JT golf website.

Do consider him and hope that you can find a good coach Smile

Why don't the 'kind-hearted' folks here post about their bad experience about the unprofessional pros there?

Well bro, some do. But I think its best not to bad-mouth in public ie forum coz one man's roti is another man's prata.

But I do admit that many times when I give golf swing tips to others, they told me that my tips are crap......

nowadays there's always free trial first before you deciding whether you want to learn under the coach. see the teaching style and the attitude... so go down and chit chat with them n decide.

others recommendation doesnt really reflects the things you will like... Smile

im having lesson at bishan range... Smile

I'm about to start my first golf lesson with Garry Doolan from JT Golf this Saturday. From the initial conversation with him, seems like quite a logical & systematic approach to lessons which I like.

Hopefully all goes well! :-)

Was having a casual conversation with some friends yesterday about group vs individual coaching. I think individual is good if you're serious about learning the game, although the prices can be eyeball-dropping. Group-wise I think no more than 4...too many people in the group and the coach's attention you drops as well...

I guess ultimately it's a question on cost-vs-value :-)

I will recommend Edward Lim from Precision Golf Academy at Bishan range. He is a patient guy and never give up on his students. This is what a beginner needs from any coaches.

Bad experience with YC Law. My wife booked a trial lesson with him. Drove from Sembawang to Bishan to meet up with him. Ask my wife to hit some balls, told her how to hit but did not explain why. Sat down with her after 5 mins and started to go through the price package. We were quite surprised that the trial lesson only lasted for 5 mins. Told him we will consider and bye bye. He appeared totally not interested at all.

I second the bad experience with YC Law from Bishan.
Very uninterested coach who does not do any hands on teaching.
Does not follow his lesson plan on the webby. Tells you to do the same thing every single lesson. No chipping lesson, no putting lesson. Only taught putting for 5min before going on green last lesson.
No video analysis as mentioned on webby. Scam.
Got much more uninterested after pocketing the fees. At least he tried to be enthusiastic during his trial lesson.
