The coaches there are not professional as i think they should be. i saw the lessons being conducted.. most instructors are not paying full attention to the students...and offering very genaric answers.. i meant being SGA pro does not equal to coaching professional.

At the end of day for me, i am keen to learn 1. my mistakes 2. the drills i should do/practice to overcome it.

bro, key words here.....'chio bu' and 'parents'.

The former attracts ppl to range there. The latter makes up the number and swells up the place. lol!

I believe that MBGC has the hottest female "golfers" around.....don't know if those are the golf pros you are asking about...

Hi, thanks for all your advice. Seems like mbgc is not the right place to look for a pro for lessons. Do you have other recommendations in other golf ranges?I would prefer places in the east since that is where I stay. Thanks in advance.

in mgbc, i encountered a ang mo pro giving lessons to a few ang mo lady golfers and at least 2 of them are in spaghetti strip top and body hugging bicycle or aerobic tights.

dun think this is right. we shd be appropriately dressed even at range.

on the other hand, my son "kena f" by his coach at TP range bcos he didnt wash his club after last weekend game. he was told that his clubs will be throw away if this happens again.

Honestly, I have been from nsrcc, to TP and I have seen mgbc instructors at work almost every weekend. Yet I have not witnessed or experienced any committed instructor. 1 that is there with a passion for ppl. N committed to see n work with their students produce result.

I m not a pro, but anyone can see when a person is committed at work.

I went on a trip to US, stepped into golf shop to try clubs. N the fitter that corrected n educated me from thoughts to physio to swing in the trying session more than any of the instructors here.

I do not exclude that it may be my prejudiced too.

But I m just hoping that I get to witness a true professional coach at work. Wat an experience it can be.

So buyers beware... Good luck!

After reading some of the comments, it made me wonder if the coaches are really that bad? Perhaps it is an issue of fit, i.e. different strokes for different folks. I myself went through 2 coaches, each was good and bad in different ways.

Would it be useful if there are more info about what a particular coach is good at? I suppose what is not said is clear lah.

ok I can give feedback coz I took 10 hrs lessons there.

Malek, the pro I went with, is kind of a wizard in short game. Chipping, pitching, bunker.

That I can recommend, but for ball striking. there are better coaches

I kinda agree with SamT. I think it's diff strokes for diff folks. What I should say is that one should see a coach perform coaching before signing up. You can learn a bit about the coach and how he/she performs by seeing how he/she teaches others. It's not a 100% guide as to the coach's ability but at least, you can see if you like the style used.

Asking around is useful but like SamT said, what worked for someone else may not work for you. But, it is a good gauge as to where the better coaches are. Again, it shouldn't be a 100% guide but at least, it's better than nothing.

Try Allen Chew at Bishan Driving Range. He is a very committed guy who knows his stuff. If you want his contact number, just drop a PM.
