| Question - What is it about ICON that justifies its pricing? I wear the Adidas 360 LTD and am looking at the new 4.0, which seems quite technologically convincing. Would like to know more about the ICON if it is worth considering. Thanks.

| Hi benhogan,
I suggest leaving the answers for FJ staff and not attempt to answer for them.
This is an official Q&A and dialogue thread where FJ and their staff will answer the questions.
For all other members, please use this thread to post questions only. For discussions, please start new threads as chatting here may bury the actual questions and they may be overlooked by FJ staff.
We thank you for your co-operation. _________________ We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

| Dear sebastian,
FootJoy would not be answering question pertaining to pricing. Please open a separate thread for this and members may advise you on retailers.
Pricing, retailers and business strategy would be out of the Q&A scope. _________________ We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

We are glad that you liked the SofJoy gloves. Unfortunately, we have dropped this glove from our product line at the end of last year. It seems you have a preference for leather gloves. As a possible replacement option, you may want to consider the StaCooler glove. The StaCooler features a cabretta leather palm and Coolmax Lycra mesh on the back of the glove. Best thing here is the Aloe Vera coating applied onto the leather that will help keep your hands nice and soft after each round of golf. Check it out and let us know if they will work for you. |

Please visit our FJ Icon website at www.fjicon.com for more information on our new flagship product. We will not comment on the competitor product you have mentioned for obvious reasons but you may want to consider why more than 60% of the players on the PGA and EPGA tours are using FJ shoes. These guys play for big prize money and they will use the best products available to make sure they make it to the weekend and hopefully be at the top of the leaderboard. This is probably the simplest way to attest to a product's quality and superiority. On your question of the FJ Icon pricing justification, other than the numerous special product features on the shoes, you may like to know that the premium full-grain leather (and calf-skin leather detailing on some models) we use to build the FJ Icon shoes is in itself well worth the shoe's value. You may want to make a mental note of this when you shop around for a pair of 'premium' golf shoes. Hope this helps. |

It will be difficult to put a time frame onto the durability of our FJ gloves, or any gloves for that matter, because this will depend very much on the player using the gloves and to some extend the material used in the glove construction. We have seen in some cases where a leather glove lasted only 1 round because of excessive twisting of the club during the swing process resulting in a tear near the base of the palm. In general, a glove should easily provide you 15 to 20 rounds of golf and yes, you will have to include those days you spend at the driving range in case you forget. In the QC lab of our FJ glove factory, we have daily on-going durability test on the raw materials we purchase. We have grinding machines that are programmed to simulate the wear and tear stress that the gloves goes through in a swing and our standard has been always been in excess of 2,000 grinding motion. Translate this to the number of shots you take for each round you play or the number of balls you hit at the range, you will have an idea of how long your FJ glove will last. One other thing, how you care for your glove after use will also determine it's useful lifespan. |

| There is some debate going on about Icon and Synr-G. Is it true that Synr-G has more technology behind than Icon as it seems to be rather popular among professionals? There is a guess that Icon is more costly due to the material rather than technology. Any truth in that? _________________ We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
